Scrumworks Pro Ordering FAQ

Q:  How does ScrumWorks Pro licensing work?
A:  ScrumWorks Pro is offered through a perpetual per-seat licensing model. Under the per-seat licensing model:
  • access to ScrumWorks Pro is limited to a maximum number of registered users;
  • there is no limit on concurrent use; and
  • use is not time-limited like a subscription license.

Q:  How much does it cost?
A:  ScrumWorks Pro costs $500 USD per seat. The ScrumWorks Pro support contract, which includes upgrades and support, is available for 20 percent of license fees per annum, renewable annually.

Q:  Do you offer a concurrent/floating licensing option?
A:  Yes. Restrictions apply so please contact us to find out more about our concurrent licensing offerings.

Q:  How do I place an order?
A:  Orders can be submitted online or by calling us at 1-888-5-DANUBE (U.S.A. toll free) or +1-503-248-0800.

Q:  What server platforms/operating systems are supported?
A:  The ScrumWorks Pro server is compatible with Windows XP/Vista/2003 Server, Mac OS X 10.4.2+, and Linux.

Q:  What client platforms/operating systems are supported?
A:  The ScrumWorks Pro Desktop Client is compatible with Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS X 10.4.2+, and Linux KDE windows manager. The ScrumWorks Pro Web Client is compatible with Internet Explorer 6+, Mozilla/Firefox 1.5+, and Safari 2.0+.

Q: Is volume pricing available for ScrumWorks?
A:  Yes. Please contact us to obtain volume pricing details.

Q:  What payment methods are accepted?
A:  We accept major credit cards. You may also pay invoices by check, money order, or wire transfer. Danube will also accept valid purchase orders.

Q:  If a ScrumWorks Pro username is no longer valid for some reason (i.e., an employee leaves my organization), do I lose that user license?
A:  No. The username can safely be deleted because all historical associations will remain intact even though the username has been deleted from the system. That particular user license can then be recycled by creating a new username in ScrumWorks.

Q:  Can I upgrade my current freeware ScrumWorks installation and migrate my data to ScrumWorks Pro?
A:  Yes. ScrumWorks Pro comes with a simple .EXE installer (for Windows) or an installation script for Mac and Linux. To upgrade to ScrumWorks Pro, point the installer at your existing ScrumWorks installation and your data will be migrated automatically.

Q:  Do I get a new license file for use with ScrumWorks Pro or can I use my old freeware license?
A:  You need a new license file for use with ScrumWorks Pro. Once your purchase has been verified, one of our representatives will supply you with a new license file for use with ScrumWorks Pro.

Q:  Does Danube offer technical support for ScrumWorks Pro?
A:  Yes. Danube offers a renewable email-based Support Contract. The Support Contract includes regularly released upgrades for ScrumWorks Pro.

Q:  Are there any other support options available, like telephone support?
A: Not at this time. We provide only email support with a best-effort response time as defined in our licensing agreement.

Q:  How much does the Support Contract cost?
A:  The ScrumWorks Pro Support Contract is available for a cost of 20 percent of license fees per year. Support Contract fees are billed once per year thereafter on the anniversary of your initial license purchase. If additional licenses are purchased after the initial license purchase date, Support Contract fees are prorated with respect to the initial license purchase date.

Q:  If, for example, my first license purchase was a three-seat ScrumWorks Pro license, what would the cost of the Support Contract be in the first year?
A: In that scenario, the cost of the ScrumWorks Pro Support Contract would be $300 USD. Because this is your initial license purchase, the support contract fee would not be prorated. This figure is generated using the following formula:

3 (per-seat licenses) × $500 (cost per license in USD) × 20% (annual support contract fee) = $100 USD per license (or $300 USD total).

Q:  Do you offer a global/enterprise licensing option?
A:  Yes. Please contact us to find out more about our enterprise licensing offerings.

Q: Does Danube sell/export ScrumWorks Pro out of the United States?
A: Danube Technologies, Inc. sells ScrumWorks Pro to entities outside of the United States subject to export control restrictions.

ScrumWorks Pro General FAQ

A:  Yes. In Scrum, traditional task based metrics are replaced by reporting that analyzes the rate at which full product increments are completed. The forecast completion chart provides a graphical projection of schedule based on the rate at which team(s) complete work and the rate at which scope changes have affected the project.

A: Please see the ScrumWorks Glossary.

Q:  Does ScrumWorks Pro scale to big sites?

A:  ScrumWorks Pro is as useful as it is today because of user feedback. While you are welcome to submit a support case, we would encourage you to consider submitting your requests in our public forum so that others can comment on your suggestion.

Q:  I want to integrate external applications or reports with ScrumWorks Pro, is that possible?
A:  Yes. ScrumWorks Pro offers a robust web services API for just such a purpose.
